The Technologist Assistant supports the technologist with various duties including transporting patients between the facility and scanner and completing paperwork.
1. Assisting the technologist with patient care by transporting patients between the facility and scanner; sanitizing and cleaning patient care and staff areas; changing table linens; entering exam and patient information electronically or on paper; and answering the telephone.
2. Demostrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
3. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
4. Complies with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions.
o Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and patients and gain their trust and respect.
o Maintain patient confidentiality in all areas
o Ability to react in an emergency and determine the best course of action or care for the patient.
o Able to work independently and under pressure.
Education and/or Experience:
o High school education or equivalent; one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
o CPR certified, mandatory education, Hepatitis B, TB
o Must be able to stand for long periods of time
o The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
o This position may be required to travel up to 100% of the time. Reliable transportation is required.
